last days in moscow

On my Dad’s first day here in Moscow, I decided to take him to Red Square to see St Basil’s Cathedral and to go inside. Here are some different angled shots of the outside;

We went inside, and I didn’t think we could take photographs, but we saw nearly everybody else taking photographs, so I thought ‘Why can’t I?’. I still didn’t take many, as I felt that it was wrong to take them – still, I took three photos, and you can get an idea of what it’s like inside.

Inside, it’s really a maze of little ways and small chapels – there’s not a lot to see inside, but it’s still quite amazing I think.

And then, outside, a lady was praying to one of the icons painted on one of the walls – it looked a very private and personal moment, and something that I thought should be captured on camera. I realise that praying is very personal, but she didn’t know that I took the photo. I think it makes for a very nice image.

More photos from the upcoming two days to come! Only a couple more days left for me in Moscow.

An apology for not visiting all the other blogs recently – as you can imagine, there has been a lot of things going on recently, and it’s not going to stop soon. I don’t think I’m going to have time to comment on other blogs for at least another week or so, so apologies.
